Computer Students – Computer Times Updated

Hello Students

The timetable at both Vaughan and Newmarket have been updated to reflect recent changes to the computer times.

You can download a copy of the timetable by going to the BOX on the home page of our website WWW.AAUPNV.WORDPRESS.COM and selecting the TIME TABLE folder and then selecting either Newmarket  or Vaughan.

Additionally you can see the times posted on the TIME TABLE tab of our website.

 

Computers will run in Newmarket

on Wednesdays

9 am until 12 pm and 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm

and in Vaughan

Mondays, Tuesdays  & Thursdays

9 am until 12 pm and 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm

Seneca will be closed on Monday May 20th for Victoria Day.

There will be NO classes.

Classes will resume on Tuesday May 21st.

Computer Video Lessons

Hello Computer Students

(and those of you who are thinking of taking computers)

 

We now have 15 short video lessons explaining various topics in WORD 2007.  These video clips are usually less than 2 to 3 minutes in length and tackle various topics in the curriculum.

Click on COMPUTERS

Now click on the topic of your choice.

If you have covered a topic and need a little refresher please check them out.

Of if you have been thinking of taking computers please take a look at the page.

We will continue to add additional videos as often as possible.

If there is a topic that is missing and you would like to see a video done please send an email to academic.upgradingNM@senecacollege.ca to request a video on the topic of your choice.  Please try to be as specific as possible with your explanation of the topic you would like explained.  We will then add your request to the list of videos we will make and try to prioritize your request.

Math Students – Assignment Due May 17th

Math Students

It’s time to check your progress.  Each month I ask that you download a spreadsheet – enter some data about when you started and how much you have completed and also set some goals for the completion of the course you are currently in.

Below are instructions on how to complete the assignment.  If you have any questions please feel free to email me at bill.giannos@senecacollege.ca.  You can complete the assignment at home or in class this week.  Thank you.

Please go the Academic Upgrading website – http://www.aaupnv.wordpress.com

On the right hand side of the site you should see a BOX with GET FILES as the title.

Underneath GET FILES there are 3 folders – please click on HOW LONG

Inside HOW LONG are two Excel spreadsheets – GED students please download the GED version and the Academic Upgrading students please download the AU version.

Once you have downloaded them please follow the instructions on each spreadsheet.

Fill out the spreadsheets and print two copies, one for you and one for me.

Please hand in your spreadsheet by Thursday May 16 th.

If you have any trouble downloading or filling out the spreadsheet please let me know.

If you are unable to come in to class another option is to email your completed spreadsheet to me at:  bill.giannos@senecacollege.ca.

If you are unable to complete the assignment at home please see me in class and I will assist you.

 For those of you with iPhones there is an Quizlet iPhone app that allows you to practice and learn anywhere you go – its free please download it and give it a try.

For android users you can use your mobile browser. There is no app at present.
